Walk With 5 Initiatives

Movement in action

Turning the message
into action.

Walk With 5 initiatives are where the mission moves beyond the screen. Some are led by Walk With 5. Others are causes, events, and community efforts we choose to stand beside. The common thread is simple: show up, move forward, and help people take their next step.

Led by Walk With 5

We build the step.

Community walks, campaigns, challenges, programs, and experiences created to bring the Walk With 5 mission to life.

We stand beside the work.

Walk With 5 also supports and participates in initiatives led by organizations, partners, and people doing meaningful work in the community.

One community. One mission. One movement.

became a movement.

More than a walk

A personal journey became a shared one.

The first annual Walk With 5 Community Walk brought people together for a morning centered on wellness, encouragement, connection, and forward motion.

What began as one man publicly fighting to change his life became an invitation for families, supporters, sponsors, media partners, and neighbors across the Wiregrass to take the next step together.

For the whole community

All ages. All backgrounds. One step at a time.

The walk was designed so people could show up as they were and move forward at their own pace.

Why it matters

A healthier community starts with the next generation.

The message is simple: progress is personal, but nobody has to walk alone.

City of Dothan proclamation for Walk With 5 Community Walk Day

Official recognition

October 3 became Walk With 5 Community Walk Day.

The City of Dothan officially recognized the first annual community walk with a proclamation honoring wellness, resilience, unity, and the idea that every life-changing journey begins with a single step.

The proclamation marked a major public milestone for a movement that began as personal accountability and grew into a community experience.

Showing up matters.

Not every initiative has to be ours to lead. Walk With 5 also believes in showing up for people and organizations doing meaningful work across the community.

Champions of Hope.
One mile completed.

On October 17, Walk With 5 joined Champions of Hope at The Plant in downtown Dothan to stand with cancer survivors, families, and everyone walking in support of someone they love. It was an amazing day of community, encouragement, and hope.

The event’s official Race Roster page listed 588 participants across the event. Together, the community supported the Southeast Health Foundation’s work to expand cancer services, programs, and patient support.

Still healing. Still showing up.

The treatment was part of the journey. So was the finish.

While undergoing treatment for lymphedema, Chris Dantzler completed Molly’s Mile. The challenges were still there, but so was the determination to take the next step.

That finish carried the heart of Walk With 5: progress at your own pace, community beside you, and hope through the hard days. Thank you to everyone who encouraged Chris and helped make the day special.

One mile. A meaningful finish. We keep walking.

The Reset.
A fresh start, together.

On October 18, The Reset brought the Wiregrass together at the Houston County Farm Center for an afternoon centered on four pillars: Move, Refuel, Recover, Connect. It was a chance to make time for wellness, meet people, and enjoy the encouragement that comes from being part of a community.

For Chris Dantzler, being part of the day was an amazing experience — a refreshing moment of renewal, connection, and shared energy. Walk With 5 was proud to support and help promote The Reset, then show up alongside the community to celebrate what its team brought to life.

Renewed energy. Growing community.

Something worth building on.

The movement, the conversations, and the people made this afternoon special. Moments like these create room to recharge, build relationships, and carry fresh encouragement into everyday life.

With The Reset designed as a quarterly gathering, this first experience offered a foundation for more connection and a stronger wellness community. Walk With 5 looks forward to seeing that work continue to grow.

Thank you to The Reset team and everyone who helped bring the community together.

This is only the beginning

The first annual walk is in the books.
The movement keeps moving.

The first Walk With 5 Community Walk was not the finish line. It was proof of what can happen when one person's next step becomes an invitation for a community to move forward together.
